 We
might not be able to change the world “out there”
but we are fully in charge of our homes and how we shelter
those that live there. Our homes are also visual
representations of how we feel about ourselves-- expressions
of our inner lives. Home is our spiritual center, the
first place from which we observe the world, our shelter
from the intrusions of the outside.
Family spirit flourishes when there
are nooks for kids to read in, ways for clutter to be
dealt with, safe cleaning supplies to use, scaled down
visuals so that simplicity or precious collections become
the theme, and healthy foods to eat. When our
home is a safe oasis, we can recharge after being in
the world out there--whether our world is high finance
or second grade.
